Changing the TOD / Time Code Battery for a 7-Series Recorder

Q: How do I change the internal AA time code/time-of-day battery on a 7-Series recorder?

A: Changing the internal AA battery is a simple process outlined here in a step by procedure:

  1. Turn the recorder upside down so the bottom panel is facing up.
  2. Remove each of the screws from the bottom panel and set them aside.
  3. Carefully lift off the bottom panel and flip it over to reveal the internal battery holder on the inside of the bottom panel.
  4. Using a screwdriver, loosen the green battery retainer board and twist it away from the battery holder. Remove the used battery and replace it with a fresh one. Twist the battery retainer board back into place and tighten the screw.
  5. Replace the bottom panel, making sure the tabs around the perimeter line up and hold with one hand while replacing the screws. Tighten the screws down making sure they are flush with the unit.
  6. Give the unit a final looking over to make sure everything is aligned properly.

We recommend a 2000+ mAh NiMH AA battery. Do not use a battery with any other chemical makeup. For a visual reference, click here: Changing the Internal Battery for a 7-Series Recorder.
