PIX 220(i) and PIX 240(i) Video Recorders Approved Media
The following is a list of approved storage devices for use with PIX 220(i), PIX 240(i) video recorders. The specific mechanisms and drives below have been extensively tested by Sound Devices. This list is regularly updated as new drives are tested.

2.5″ Solid State Drives
- Sound Devices PIX-SSD5
- Intel 520 SSD, 240 GB and 480 GB capacities (note that this mechanism requires a PIX-SHIM2 for proper fit in the PIX-CADDY)
- Samsung 840 Pro Series 256 GB
- Samsung 830 Series, approved for use with firmware 2.01 and above - the 256 GB model was offered as the Sound Devices PIX-SSD3
- Corsair Force GT 240 GB (SATA 3)
- Sandisk Extreme 240 GB (SATA 3)
- SanDisk Ultra® 240 GB drive - this was offered as the Sound Devices PIX-SSD2
- SanDisk Ultra® solid state drives
- OWC Mercury Extreme Pro 6G SSD: 240GB and 480GB
- OWC Mercury Electra 3G SSD: 120GB and 480GB
- OWC Mercury Electra 3G SSD: 240GB firmware less than V5.02 (firmware 5.0.2 or later has compatibility issues and is not supported)
- Discontinued - OWC Mercury Extreme Pro 3G SSD
- Discontinued - Samsung 470 Series - Sound Devices offered the 256 GB model as Sound Devices PIX-256SSD
2.5″ Mechanical Drives
Approved mechanical drives are recommended for use only in stationary applications. Excessive vibration or motion may cause data corruption. Support for mechanical drives began with PIX firmware revision 1.07.
