Transfer from OS 9 Mac

Q: We purchased two 744Ts, and we’re trying to figure out the best way to get the audio off of the internal hard drive. We’re currently running audio workstations on Macs with OS 9 installed. Is there a way to mount the 744T when attached via FireWire to a Mac with the OS9 operating system?

A: Because we do not support Mac OS 9 (nor has Apple since 2003), you will need to either connect to a Windows 2000 (or later) or Mac OS X machine with FireWire to directly connect the recorders as external hard drives. Alternatively, you can connect an external FAT32-formatted hard drive to the recorder’s FireWire port and perform a transfer from internal to the external drive. That would be the fastest way. You could then attach the external hard drive to the OS 9 Mac (assuming it supports the chipset from the external hard drive).
