Requirements for Remote Control of 6-Series

Through collaboration with third-party companies—Ambient Recording & Lockit Network GmbH, and Timecode Systems & PureBlend Software—Sound Devices supports wireless remote control of any 6-Series mixer (688, 664, and 633) via web-based and iOS mobile devices. Remote control of the mixers is also supported by connecting these systems to the Sound Devices CL-12 liner fader controller.

For proper integration between a 6-Series mixer and third-party remote control systems, certain hardware and minimum software/firmware is required. For instance, firmware v3.10 or later on the 6-Series mixers is required. Please refer to the tables below for more requirements related to the type of integration.

iOS Wireless Remote Control Integration

This integration provides wireless remote control of 6-Series mixer/recorders from iOS mobile devices, such as iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch.

Hardware/Software Description Image

TCB-41 When connecting to the CL-12 instead of the mixer, use the TCB-41—a 9-pin Lemo to USB-A cable (shown) that is available from Timecode Systems.
MovieSlate Download and install the MovieSlate app to your iOS device. Minimum MovieSlate v8.5 required, which runs on iOS 8,9 or 10.
Also required is the Sound Department PRO, an optional plug-in that is part of the MovieSlate 8 Pro features available for purchase from within the app or as a monthly subscription from PureBlend Software.
