Electronics Assembler & Tester – Watford, UK

Position: Electronics Assembler & Tester
Full/Part Time: Full Time
Location: Watford, UK

Sound Devices is looking for an experienced RF/Electronics Compliance Engineer to join our R&D team at Audio Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sound Devices and a manufacturer of professional wireless audio products that are used in film, television and music production all over the world, is searching for an ambitious, driven individual to join our operation. We promote a team environment and offer ongoing training and support.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Assemble and disassemble electronic products while following ESD control standards. 
  • Perform functional and automated test on Audio Ltd and Sound Devices products, including digital wireless transmitters, receivers, and portable mixer-recorders. 
  • Rework PCBs containing both surface mount and through-hole components. 
  • Perform preventative maintenance on test station equipment. 
  • Other duties as required. 

Required Skills and Abilities: 

  • 2 years of electronics assembly experience is desirable but not required. 
  • Ability to read and interpret basic schematics and wiring diagrams. 
  • Experience in soldering and rework of fine pitch SMT and through-hole components. 
  • Good manual dexterity skills. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 
  • Strong mechanical aptitude. 
  • Ability to work unsupervised. 
  • Understanding of standard ESD preventative practices is a plus. 
  • Familiarity with software PCB layout viewing software such as PADS is a plus.
