Sound Devices Appoints Vojtech Pokorny as Vice President of Sales 

REEDSBURG, WISC., MARCH 1, 2022 – Sound Devices is pleased to name Vojtech Pokorny as Vice President of Sales. Vojtech previously served as both Sales Manager of the Asia-Pacific (APAC) and Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) for Sound Devices. 

Former Vice President of Sales Kishore Patel will remain as Managing Director of Sound Devices’ UK distribution and service center and continue to assist the Sales team as a technical advisor.

Prior to joining Sound Devices, Vojtech studied Cinematography & Directing at the Berlin Film Academy. He actively worked as cinematographer, director and editor for Broadcast & Cinema between 2001-2013. After 2013 he transitioned into sales, first working for Band Pro Munich and then Sound Devices as Sales Manager for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. In 2020, Vojtech served as Vice President of Sales for Creative Solutions, the manufacturer of Teradek, Small HD, Wooden Camera and Amimon. In 2021 he returned to Sound Devices as Sales Manager of the Asia-Pacific region. 

The previous year has been momentous for Sound Devices. In early 2021, partnerships with both CEDAR Audio Ltd. and Frame.io lead to the CEDAR sdnx noise suppression plugin for 8-Series and compatibility with Frame.io’s Camera-to-Cloud, respectively. In May, the CL-16 Linear Fader Control Surface for 8-Series won the prestigious Cinema Audio Society Award for Outstanding Product – Production. Sound Devices’ first miniature transmitter, the A20-Mini, was released in July with state-of-the-art features including full remote control via the A20-Remote mobile app, GainForward Architecture, internal 32-bit float recording, and a worldwide tuning range of 470 MHz – 694 MHz. A later update for the A20-Mini introduced group powering and recording. In October, Sound Devices announced its acquisition by the Audiotonix Group, which consists of the Allen & Heath, Calrec, DiGiCo, DiGiGrid, Group One Limited, KLANG:technologies, and Solid State Logic technology brands.
