Technical Sales Specialist – Madison, Wisconsin

The Technical Sales Specialist will be responsible for providing product training to the sales channels in the Americas and Asia Pacific, working alongside the commercial sales managers to enable them to close sales and concentrate on the business aspect. This position also includes identifying potential new partners based on their markets, as well as working with existing direct partners, suggesting, and planning application specific workflows with them. The Technical Sales Specialist will be required to travel to visit resellers and VIP customers and participate in events and tradeshows to represent Sound Devices LLC.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Online and in-person training and product demonstrations
  • Coordinating reseller visits and events
  • Answering technical sales channel and end customer questions
  • Trade show participation
  • Maintaining demo gear for product demonstrations and tradeshows
  • Feeding back observations and trends from the field to sales and engineering

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Excellent personality and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent technical understanding and experience of our products
  • Understanding of workflow on a filmset as well as other vertical markets (System Integration, Broadcast etc.)
  • Commercial mindset
  • Excellent organizational and follow-up skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well both independently and cooperatively as part of a team
  • Proficient IT skills

Experience:

  • Working knowledge of professional audio, wireless microphone systems
  • Technical/Customer Support experience

Education:

  • 2 year degree in Audio Recording or related field
