Sound Devices Lends Support to Sundance Film Festival

PIX 270i rack-mount video recorders and accessories provide stability for world famous film festival.

PARK CITY, UT, January 29, 2016 — Sound Devices, LLC has been recognized as an In-Kind Supporter of Sundance Institute for its role in the Sundance Film Festival 2016. Sound Devices provided Sundance organizers with five PIX 270i rack-mount video recorders and 10 PIX-Caddy 2 SSD caddies, which are being used alongside several PIX 270i rental units and the Sundance Institute’s own stock of PIX-Caddy 2’s for each of the festival’s 24 screens.

The PIX 270i provide tapeless, file-based recording and playback with the ability to access and transfer high-quality files over Ethernet — ideal capabilities to help the festival keep pace with the digital workflows of today’s filmmakers.

“We’re happy to support this year’s Sundance Film Festival,” said Matt Anderson, CEO, Sound Devices, LLC. “Much like the Sundance Institute, our company is very passionate about the film industry. We feel that the stability and flexibility the PIX 270i offers will be the perfect addition for Sundance Festival organizers.”

In total, over 20 PIX 270i video recorders and over 100 PIX-Caddy 2’s are being used at this year’s festival.
