Astral TX and A10-TX plug-on adapter plate

Made By: David Ross Audio.

This is a custom-made solution for mounting and powering the A10/Astral receiver from Sound Devices. The caddy is 3D printed from carbon fiber-reinforced PETG with 1/4-inch threaded inserts for mounting. It is designed to fit a battery sled that can take a Sony NPF-style battery for power. Cables can be customized to whatever you need.

Astral TX and A10-TX plug-on adapter plate

Made By: Andrea Cremonini.

This plate is compatible with both the Astral TX and the a10tx. It allows the use of the transmitter just like a plugin, not attached to the pole or to the mount or the quick release, but only to the XLR. This renders boom pole changes quicker for me. Of course it is as everything down to preference. This is the only option that is compatible with both transmitters, and that allows the user to choose what version of cable and connector to use. For the Astral TX one can choose if to use the wire clip to remove quickly or to use the two m2.5 bolts in the body.

Sound Devices Astral Series to be Displayed at IBC

Sound Devices Astral ARX32 receiver to make its IBC debut

AMSTERDAM, NL, September 9, 2024 — Sound Devices is proud to announce that they will be appearing at the 2024 IBC Convention at RAI Amsterdam from September 13-16, 2024. The brand will be giving demonstrations of Astral-series wireless products, including the recently released Astral ARX32 and the new Astral Outpost system. Sound Devices will be located at stand 8.C97 during the convention. For more information, please click here.

The Sound Devices’ Astral series of wireless products have rapidly expanded into one of the most versatile and feature-laden RF toolkits available to professionals today. The Astral ARX32 receiver builds upon the game-changing features of the Astral ARX16 and Astral ARX8 receivers by offering even more channels, flexibility, and versatility in a compact wireless footprint than ever before. A 16-channel receiver with Sound Devices’ HexVersityⓇ (2-to-6-antenna diversity), Astral ARX32 offers up to 32 channels of clean, reliable RF in a single, compact 1U 19” rack unit. Astral ARX32, like many Astral-series products, is operable worldwide due to its unprecedented 169-1525 MHz global tuning range courtesy of Sound Devices’ category-defining SpectraBand Technology. The Astral ARX32 receiver also includes the new RF Mirror Mode for full redundant operation.

Sound Devices will also be showcasing the new Astral Outpost-NL for remote-mounted NexLinkⓇ antennae via Ethernet. The Astral Outpost-NL, powered by PoE or USB-C input, extends long-distance control of all Astral transmitters, allowing them to be located near the action. A single unit can be deployed in large venues like stadiums, with its antennas located near the transmitters rather than at the equipment rack. The Astral Opto expansion box adds native Optocore audio I/O to the Astral ARX32 receiver for DiGiCo console interconnectivity, and will be available for shipping in the Fall. Used together, these make the Astral series some of the most compact, full-featured wireless products on the market, ideal for a wide range of live sound and touring applications.

“The Astral series was conceived as an all-in-one toolkit to address wireless needs for both location sound and live production professionals,” said Sound Devices Vice President of Sales Andy “Baggy” Robinson. “With Astral ARX32, we’re building off those innovations in wireless versatility and reliability to provide a receiver that can live up to our reputation for versatile, hardy gear that is utterly reliable in any circumstance. We’re very proud to be able to showcase this, alongside the rest of the Astral family, at IBC this year.”
